Economic Development Queensland
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a driving catalyst for economic growth through property and infrastructure partnerships across Queensland. The team works collaboratively with local governments and multiple industry stakeholders, to identify growth opportunities, facilitate and deliver infrastructure and property project solutions for the economic benefit of Queensland communities.
EDQ is responsible for the master-planning and facilitation of development of the Parklands site and they work collaboratively with the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct Office to promote and facilitate health and knowledge development and investment in the precinct and provide a coordination function between the land owner and potential development proponents.
EDQ intends making sites available to successful proponents, or consortia, under development management agreements or direct purchasing arrangements.
The redevelopment of Parkland site, Southport will be one of the largest urban renewal projects ever undertaken on the Gold Coast. The redevelopment will provide vital infrastructure for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ (GC2018) and in the longer-term, it will form the key residential, commercial and retail part of the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
The precinct is open for business and mixed-use health and knowledge development is already establishing in the precinct with new land development able to start in early 2019.
